Eyelit's Award-winning Integrated Manufacturing Execution (MES), Quality and Asset Management Software Suite Selected by SiCrystal AG for Silicon Carbide (SiC) Wafer Manufacturing

Selection continues Eyelit’s global expansion, sale by European partner Systema GmbH

December 03, 2008, 03:16 PM Eastern Standard Time
TORONTO—(BUSINESS WIRE)—Eyelit Inc., a manufacturing software provider for visibility, control, and coordination of manufacturing operations for the aerospace & defense, electronics, semiconductor, and solar industries, announced today that SiCrystal AG, European manufacturer of silicon carbide (SiC) wafers, has selected Eyelit's Enterprise Manufacturing and Quality Suite.

Eyelit’s solution replaces an internally developed system, improves product visibility and supports increasing production volumes. Systema GmbH will lead the implementation of Eyelit’s solution at SiCrystal, as well as provide local European product support.

“We found the Eyelit solution much more flexible and a better fit for our IT architecture. We needed better operational information, especially detailed material and equipment information; we also felt we could implement Eyelit faster than other solutions at a much lower cost. In addition, Eyelit’s solution is much easier to manage and one that could expand with our growing business. We also liked the flexibility both Eyelit and Systema showed during the sales process and feel confident they are the right partners for SiCrystal for this mission-critical manufacturing solution,” said Erwin Schmitt, Production Manager at SiCrystal.

"We are excited about our relationship with Systema. We already have several projects underway with Systema, encompassing MES implementation, factory automation, and material handling. This selection expands Eyelit’s successful distribution partner network. We will be adding partners in Asia soon, as we continue our rapid growth and global expansion. Eyelit offers a proven solution which takes advantage of new technologies, such as open-source Linux. This allows for dramatically lower costs than legacy MES solutions, which require fixed, complex architectures running on older platforms such as VMS and are written in either Cobol or Fortran,” stated Dan Estrada, Vice-President of Sales and Business Development at Eyelit Inc.
