Attribute Based Planning

Constraint based and Optimized

Attribute Based Planning (ABP) enables manufacturers of complex, configurable products to plan customer-specific requirements without creating a unique part number for every possible configuration. Attributes — meaningful characteristics assigned to orders, demands, and supply chain objects — allow the planning system to work with a common product structure while enforcing precise customer specifications at every level of the supply chain.

Eyelit’s 3rd Generation ABP goes significantly further than competitive implementations. Attributes propagate through the full production network — upstream and downstream — with no limit on BOM depth or complexity, and apply to every planning object including production processes and resources, enabling qualification-based routing without manual intervention. Combined with constraint-based optimization, the system finds the best plan across all constrained orders simultaneously. Automated alternative selection evaluated against user-defined criteria allows companies to systematically consume available network inventory before creating new, then route to preferred sources when new supply is needed. 3rd Generation ABP is the structured foundation that makes customer-specific Agentic AI decisions tractable.

Key Features:

  • Full BOM Propagation — Upstream and downstream, no depth limit, attribute requirements enforced at every level of the production network
  • All Planning Objects — Attributes on processes, resources, and routes — not just products and orders — enabling qualification-based planning
  • Optimization + ABP — Constraint-based optimization and attribute planning in a single model — the best plan, not just a feasible one
  • Weighted Alternative Selection — Automated choice among acceptable products, vendors, subcontractors, and routes based on user-defined performance criteria
  • Applicable environments: MTO / CTO / ATO / ETO — Qualified Supplier Modeling — Tariff Avoidance — Customer-Specific Sourcing — Genealogy & Traceability
